Helicopters flying along Potomac frequently pose dangers to passenger jets The two scrubbed landings within a week illustrate the heightened danger posed by frequent military helicopter flights adjacent to the busy airport, which have been the source of close calls and worries about crashes for years.
The U.S. Army Black Hawk that crashed into an American Airlines regional jet Wednesday night and killed 64 people, as well as three Army crew members on the chopper, had been flying along the east bank of the Potomac River in a flight corridor designated for low-flying helicopters.

FLASHBACK: Biden's FAA Focused on Diversity, Hiring Workers With Severe Disabilities  While we don’t know yet what caused the midair collision between the U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter and a civilian airliner in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday night, renewed attention is turning to Biden-era DEI initiatives at the FAA and whether they may have played a role.
“The Federal Aviation Administration is actively recruiting workers who suffer ‘severe intellectual’ disabilities, psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website,” the New York Post reported a year ago.

Hegseth Calls This 'One of the Dumbest Phrases in Military History'  “Jesse, one of the dumbest phrases in military history is ‘our diversity is our strength,’” Hegseth said. “Our diversity is not our strength. Our unity and our shared purpose is our strength.”

The case of the radical ‘Zizian’ vegan trans cult and the shooting death of a Border Patrol agent  The murder of a US Border Patrol agent near the Canadian border appears to be linked to a radical leftist trans militant cult accused of killings across the country.
Around a week before the Jan. 20 attack, federal law enforcement had been surveilling German national Felix “Ophelia” Bauckholt and University of Washington student Teresa “Milo” Consuelo Youngblut.

A Day in the Life of a Christian – Under Pakistan’s Blasphemy Laws  Pakistan’s blasphemy laws continue to provide the structure for much of the human rights violations of Christians in Pakistan. Christians live in constant fear of blasphemy allegations, false charges, destruction of their property, arrest, imprisonment, beatings, torture, and execution. A 70-year-old Pakistani Catholic, Anwar Kenneth, for instance, has been on death row since his arrest on blasphemy charges in 2001.
Human rights groups, university students in Western countries, Pope Francis, and activists would be more than welcome to protest for the release and safety of Kenneth and many other victims of Pakistan’s blasphemy laws. Sadly, silence and indifference have been their only reactions.

Trapping kids in schools where almost no learning occurs is an atrocious moral failing.
New York isn’t just squandering money. It’s squandering lives. Kids in Poughkeepsie, where only 5% of fourth graders are proficient in English, according to state data, have the odds stacked against them.
Persistently failing schools should be slammed shut, and students should be offered the chance to attend another school.

Test scores show how teacher union-driven lockdowns devastated kids   Most of America’s kids aren’t regaining the ground lost to school shutdowns during the pandemic: That’s the main bottom line of the “nation’s report card,” the National Assessment of Educational Progress, for 2024.

Border Apprehensions Plummet as Trump Effect Sets In   In the Del Rio Border Patrol Sector, once one of the busiest regions for illegal border crossings in Texas, migrant apprehensions have dropped by nearly 40% in the first full week of the Trump presidency. The drop has been noted across the southwest border as enhanced immigration operations promised by the Trump campaign during the election season begin to take shape.

Mexico—Friend, Enemy, Neutral, or Something Else? -VD Hanson After four years of Biden’s appeasement, Mexico seems to assume that it has a sovereign right to encourage the flight of millions of its own impoverished citizens illegally into the U.S. and further assumes that it can fast-track millions of Latin Americans through its territory and across our border.

The constant attacks upon defenseless Christians in Africa is shamefully ignored by most of the world's press. Intelligence agencies of the West's major powers are, no doubt, aware of this situation, but at this crucial stage for the Indo-Pacific, the Middle East and Ukraine, priorities are understandably focused elsewhere. Africa, it seems, is simply not a priority for the West at this time -- and that appears exactly why China, taking advantage of this vacuum, is making deep inroads throughout Africa (and the other unprioritized continent, South America) economically, financially, and politically – predominantly through their "Belt and Road" seductive-sounding loan initiatives, many of which turn out to be debt-traps.

Christians Who Opposed Trump Should Examine Their Hearts After His Week Of Big Biblical Wins  Trump’s recent slew of executive orders don’t simply pave the way for Christians to live out their obedience to God without the retribution that the Biden administration guaranteed. They also open the door for the redemption of some of the most corrupt and sinful policies this nation has ever endured. Every Christian should want that and consequently vote for it.

Christianity Today Chooses Political Enemies Over Biblical Truths   On top of those concerns, Christianity Today and other victim-focused media are missing the fact that Americans are struggling with the implications of this border crisis. Illegals have committed horrific crimes and devastated communities of law-abiding Americans. If we want to fret over “victims,” let’s not forget who this crisis has affected the most.
“We get lectured about loving our neighbors, but the press, including Christianity Today, seems way more interested in showing love to the illegal immigrants over the Americans,”

Trump’s 300 Executive Actions Made His First Week The Most Consequential In Presidential History   President Donald Trump did not need to learn the location of the White House breakroom during his first week in office. He rarely takes a break, and the beauty of a second term is he already knows how things work in the White House.
He also knows how things work in Washington. Trump’s first term was full of ugly political lessons taught through betrayals, bogus impeachments, and ongoing lawfare. He first came to office in 2016 promising to drain the insidious swamp, and the swamp tried to drown him.

Trump Revokes Deportation Protections for Over 600,000 Venezuelan Migrants  The order rescinds a previous order from Joe Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, that extended the protections for a further 18 months.
“Before he left town, Mayorkas signed an order that said for 18 months, they were going to extend protection to people on Temporary Protected Status, which meant they were going to be able to stay here and violate our laws for another 18 months,” Noem said. “We stopped that.”

Trump signs executive order protecting children from chemical and surgical gender mutilation   “Across the country today, medical professionals are maiming and sterilizing a growing number of impressionable children under the radical and false claim that adults can change a child’s sex through a series of irreversible medical interventions. This dangerous trend will be a stain on our Nation’s history, and it must end,” begins the stunning order from the Oval Office.

Reports of the pro-life movement's death have been greatly exaggerated.
Vice President J.D. Vance spoke in person at the March for Life last week, becoming only the second sitting vice president to do so.
President Donald Trump recorded a video for the occasion, in which he vowed to "stop the radical Democrat push for a federal right to unlimited abortion on demand, up to the moment of birth and even after birth."

The Left's Worst Nightmare: Second Acts, Donald Trump, and ‘Chimps with Machine Guns’  The contrast between the rapid-fire, no-holds-barred Trump approach and the meandering, half-dead corpse of Joe Biden is especially striking. It’s just one of the reasons why Trump’s approval rating has been so strong, including an astonishing 69% approval amongst black voters.

Pushback: The left discovers it doesn't have the right to break the law   Essentially, in the past five years too many Americans went mad, thinking they could do anything they wanted to those who disagreed with them, including abusing government power and breaking the law for political ends.
They are now discovering that the United States remains a nation of laws. The wheel of justice might grind slow, but it grinds on. There are penalties for violating those laws, and a lot of people are about to discover what those penalties are.

Biden’s last minute pardons and commutations ensured his reputation will remain forever tarnished. He’ll now be known as a reckless President who abused his office in his final moments, excusing the grave misdeeds and crimes of others, for everyone from his son to his siblings, to official leaders and serious criminals.

The infamous D.C. jail known as the Gulag was reportedly the only jail in America that refused to release some dozen of its prisoners right after Trump’s inauguration and J6 pardons, and it has since been reported that some of them have been moved to other jails as authorities allege state charges or other spurious reasons to postpone releasing them. One J6er, Anthony Vo, is even being held in Canada, and it is unclear why he hasn’t been released since the Trump administration ordered all J6ers released.

If New York wants to survive as — or some would say again become — the legal capital of the world, serious changes must be made.  Why not start with the N.Y. juror orientation video to instruct jurors about their inalienable Zenger nullification right, as well as to remind jurors not to be prejudiced in advance of hearing all the evidence?  Lawyers must also be allowed to refer to the jurors’ nullification right and to argue if the facts in the case support nullification of a judge’s instruction.

It's a New Day: 50 Tren de Aragua Gang Members Rounded Up in Colorado   The operation was carried out by agents from Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA.) Bad guys were caught, those with charges will be tried, and those who are in the country illegally will be deported. Fifty doesn't seem like a large number set against the millions in the country illegally, but these are vicious gang members, precisely the sort that the Trump administration ordered be a priority.

Trump pardons 23 pro-life activists convicted of FACE Act violations  On the eve of the national March for Life rally in Washington, President Donald Trump announced Jan. 23 he was issuing pardons for 23 protesters arrested for violating the federal Freedom of Access to Clinics (FACE) Act.
Trump signed the pardons in the Oval Office.
“They should not have been prosecuted. Many of them are elderly people,” he told reporters. “This is a great honor to sign this.”

Breathtaking: There's no other word for the sheer ambition and scope of Donald Trump's second inaugural address.
President Trump is back with all the confidence of a man delivered from death for a purpose.

Following a months-long media smear campaign aimed at tanking his nomination, the Senate voted to confirm Pete Hegseth as America’s next defense secretary Friday night. The final vote was 51-50, with Vice President J.D. Vance casting the tie-breaking vote after GOP Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky joined Democrats in opposition.

These Mayors Understand How to Run a City...Armed with common sense policies, three urban leaders are fighting a patient battle against chaos    Urban leaders have greeted the return of Donald Trump with about as much enthusiasm as they would have for a reprise of the bubonic plague. The National Urban League imagines an “extreme right-wing” administration that will ban abortion, threaten the civil service, and end both immigration and racial quotas. Trump has even proposed building new planned cities—so-called freedom cities—that could compete with the existing urban landscape. Some urban leaders fear Trump’s actions will force them to “go it alone”—to grapple with their cities’ problems without the benefit of federal funding. But perhaps this is less of a problem than it seems. After all, cities have declined over the past four years with a Democrat in the White House. Weaning cities from federal assistance may be just what’s needed to spur change.

Big fail for Budde. Mercy is not sternly lecturing. Mercy is not hectoring like a bitter hag. And it certainly isn’t poisoning children with hormones and hacking off their body parts. It certainly isn’t treating illegal immigrants like chattel slaves.

K-12 education is mediocre because teaching colleges set mediocre standards   New Jersey’s recent announcement that it will eliminate basic reading, writing, and mathematics proficiency exams for aspiring teachers is a symptom of a much broader problem. The real crisis is the failure of our education colleges to maintain high standards. Many of these institutions have steadily lowered standards, rather than equip aspiring teachers with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in the classroom. This failure has created a vicious cycle from kindergarten through college in which underqualified educators produce mediocre graduates. Many of these graduates will become teachers themselves, and so the decline continues.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's most recent report, "46 million acres of crop, pasture and forest lands were held by investors from outside of the United States" at the end of 2023, and that number, which totals about 3.6% of all private land, seems to be rising. Canada is the largest foreign landholder in our country by far, followed by European countries like the Netherlands, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

On Thursday afternoon, Trump issued pardons for pro-life activists who were prosecuted by the Joe Biden administration under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which was signed into law in 1994 by former President Bill Clinton. The law federally criminalizes obstructing access to abortion clinics. This is yet another campaign trail promise that the president has fulfilled in less than a week in office. (How refreshing is it to have someone in office who does what he says he's going to do?)
"Twenty-three people were prosecuted who should not have been prosecuted. Many of them are elderly people. They should not have been prosecuted. This is a great honor to sign this," the president said as he issued the pardons from his desk in the Oval Office.

Do We Want a 'National Cathedral' That Prays to the God of Leftism?  A theologically progressive prayer service dedicated to leftist values; led and designed by left-wing Episcopalians; with a focus on personally attacking the new president of the United States, who was elected in a landslide. Is this really what Americans seek from their religious leaders? Is this what the National Cathedral Interfaith Prayer Service is supposed to be, and might it just be better to stop honoring the religion of leftism, and let national prayer services become about prayer and God rather than progressive values?

'I want them in prison': Brent Bozell erupts on those who orchestrated charges against J6ers...'These people were treated like dissidents under a dictatorship'   They were jailed, without bond, sometimes without even hearings, for months or years. They were charged with inappropriate charges. Prosecutors tried to enhance their sentences with claims of obstruction. Judges, mostly Democrats in the District of Columbia, went along.
The result was a level of punishment not ever seen before in American justice.

All Senate Democrats Vote Against Protecting Babies Born Alive From Abortion  On Wednesday, all 47 Democratic senators voted against moving forward with Sens. James Lankford's (R-OK) and Jim Banks' (R-IN) bill, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The vote was 52-47, with the bill falling short of the necessary 60 votes. Such commonsense legislation would merely protect babies born alive from failed abortions by ensuring they received medical care. Republicans have repeatedly tried to get such a bill passed, only to face opposition from vehemently pro-abortion Democrats, who often lie and mislead about the bill.

In (small-o) orthodox circles, the Episcopal Church is apostate, straying from biblical teachings on female pastors, the LGBTQ array, and interfaith worship services.
Donald Trump and JD Vance lent their credibility to the National Prayer Service with their presence (as their predecessors have done since the 1930s). That set them up for a political lecture by the liberal bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington.

While President Trump is enacting big, bold, audacious plans for America, it might be time to scrap all services at the activist-oriented National Cathedral and start a different tradition in a more welcoming, inclusive place.
It’s no secret that traditional religious denominations in America have long been on a downward spiral, closing their doors for good.  It should also come as no surprise that the Episcopal church has been one of the hardest hit groups.  One expert on the denomination even said that on its current course, the Episcopal church could disappear by 2050.

Miranda Devine: Egomaniacal Bishop Budde’s woke rant just makes her another liberal pawn aiming to cut down Trump  She sees herself as a hero speaking truth to power but only thinks of herself and her small-minded, outmoded political outlook.
No wonder the Episcopal Church is hemorrhaging adherents.
On any given Sunday, only 400,000 people fill the pews of its churches across America.
Sadly, the fastest-growing religious denomination is “no affiliation,” and we can thank prideful shepherds like Budde for making the situation worse.

Illegal Immigrants Start Self-Deporting in the Face of Tough New Trump Policies Remember: every single so-called asylum seeker who is now returning to his or her home country is a fraudster. They did not come to the United States because they had a legitimate fear of being persecuted by their own government for their religion, ethnicity, or politics; they came because they were opportunists taking advantage of the corrupt Biden administration’s uncontrolled mass immigration policy. They lied on federal documents to commit fraud, and that is a felony.
Those who are here illegally but who haven’t committed fraud or other felonies are self-deporting for other reasons. First of all, self-deportation preserves their ability to continue working on legal entry to the country, whereas those who are deported may not re-enter the country for a minimum of five years, and maybe even never.

The decision to pause resettlement comes in sharp contrast to the previous administration, which had allowed incredibly high levels of refugees into the country — to the dismay of some local communities. The Biden administration allowed more than 100,000 refugees to settle in the U.S. throughout fiscal year 2024, the highest resettlement number in roughly three decades.

So, what does one make of this?
The bishop had no right to abuse her position in the church and hijack a prayer service with a political message. By mentioning only working-class illegal migrants, she is attempting to imply that this is about class and that Trump is persecuting the less fortunate. It also reveals her outlook when she assumes that illegal aliens can only be dishwashers and such. But illegal aliens could be wealthy and hold white-collar jobs. They could be the kind who overstay their visas.

Guiding Hand: Look At All Trump Survived To Get Here  But by the grace of God and a fragment of an inch, Donald Trump stood before his fellow Americans and raised his right hand to once again “solemnly swear to faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States.” Political redemption and the sweet, sweet revenge of success? Sure. The hand of providence? Trump absolutely believes so, and so do many of his supporters.
“I was saved by God to make America Great Again,” he said to a standing ovation from his family and friends.

Trump Saves the Whales: Plans End to Disastrous Northeast Offshore Wind Farms  The administration of outgoing President Joe Biden had prioritized funding and support for offshore wind projects during its four years in power, including major wind farm subsidies in the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” and relying on leftist governors in New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts to back the projects. The projects attracted loud opposition from local tourism industries and environmentalists, who noted a significant increase in the number of washed-up whale carcasses along the shoreline as sonar work began off the Northeast coast. The winter of 2025 has been brutal for Europe, exposing the severe flaws of its over-reliance on wind and solar energy. As temperatures plummeted, countries grappled with electricity shortages, soaring energy prices, and the grim specter of blackouts.
In the United Kingdom and Germany, two countries that have positioned themselves as global leaders in the adoption of “renewable” energy, the dangerous gamble of prioritizing wind and solar power over reliable energy sources is leaving millions vulnerable in the dead of winter.

The pardons were timed to guarantee that the media would not focus on yet another unethical act by this president. He need not have worried. For four years, the media worked tirelessly to deny or deflect the corruption scandal surrounding the Biden family.
The pardoning of James Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John Owens and Francis Biden brought an inescapable clarity to the corruption of what is known in Washington as Biden Inc.

Inauguration Day 2025 was a great day for America, the beginning of our nation’s comeback to greatness, and the end of an era most Americans consider a steep descent into progressive madness and self-destruction. But even as Donald J. Trump reclaimed the White House on Monday and began launching a series of orders to restore sanity and put America First, evicted tenant Joe Biden – arguably the worst President in our country’s history – raced in his final hours to set as many fires as possible on his way out the door.
