American Churches Turned into Mosques — But Who’s Really to Blame?  For Muslims, the transformation of non-Muslim places of worship into mosques is the physical manifestation and validation of Islam’s ancient battle cry: Allahu akbar, which simply means “my god is greater than your god,” as seen by Allah’s taking up residence in the temple of his vanquished counterparts.

   The transformation of Christian churches into mosques is especially emblematic of this phenomenon. Low Church in High Places: The Fate and Future of American Protestantism  American Protestantism is in a bad way. At least, depending on how you define the term “Protestant.”

   For many of us, it means “not Catholic.” If we’ve done our church history homework, or pay attention to online theological debates, maybe we mentally add “or Orthodox.” But baked into the name is a protest and that nominal fist is raised squarely at Rome.

   There was a time when the umbrella term did some work. Protestants included the heirs of Martin Luther, of John Calvin, of Thomas Cranmer, even of Menno Simons. Later there were break-offs and dissenters—including pietists (Lutherans who cared about the heart), Puritans (Anglicans who cared about the heart), Baptists (one-time Puritans who cared about the heart), and Methodists (are you sensing a pattern?)—but the family, however extended, was still recognizable.

News reports have attributed the bombing to Guy Edward Bartkus, an emotionally troubled 25-year-old who appears to have been killed in the blast. Bartkus left behind social media posts and videos in which he expressed the intention to commit suicide in just such a manner, and described himself as an "antinatalist."

  Unlike the "child-free" movement, which objects to making people feel guilty for choosing not to have children, antinatalists believe no one should have children, arguing that the world is "unjust," life brings suffering, and those not yet born cannot consent to being brought into existence; therefore, it is unethical to bring them into existence.

What My Screen Time Exposed About Our Spiritual Crisis  In other words, we are in the midst of a spiritual battle on our screens. I am not saying all media technologies, companies or content are necessarily tools of Satan. I am saying their overwhelming domination of our attention distracts us from deeper work – on our families, our communities and ourselves and this spiritual adversary can use those distractions for his own, deceptive purposes.
