Dems Might Be Overplaying Their Hand on DHS Shutdown for the Most Obvious Reason   We experienced an ISIS-inspired terror incident in New York City, where jihadists threw an IED outside Gracie Mansion. There was a terror attack in Austin, Texas, where three people were shot and killed, and at least 12 others were wounded. Terror sleeper cells have likely been activated in response to Operation Epic Fury in Iran. We face an increased threat of terrorist retaliation, and the DHS is not fully operational. Additionally, we have experienced natural disasters. There are no good Democrat talking points left to defend this anymore.

“Since our December 2020 estimate, the illegal alien population in the United States has grown by 4.1 million, or 28.2 percent, reflecting an unprecedented wave of illegal immigration during the Biden administration,” the group reported on Wednesday.

You just might be a Democrat — The list of Democrat absurdities is growing long (Vol. 5)  *If you believe that most workers should be paid more … and also believe that many things should be free, you just might be a Democrat.
*If you think that women are oppressed in America … and are also strongly against the deportation of convicted illegal alien rapists and Muslim men as well as President Trump's mission to liberate Iran, you just might be a Democrat. (Or a RINO.)

First Grader’s ‘Any Life’ Message Sparks Major First Amendment Ruling The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of an elementary school student’s First Amendment rights after she was punished for adding the words “any life” to a picture of “Black Lives Matter.”
   The student, with the initials B.B., said she added the message while in first grade in 2021, inspired by a lesson on Martin Luther King Jr. She shared the drawing with a friend.
   The school principal told her the drawing was inappropriate and punished her, according to the Pacific Legal Foundation, which represented the family in the case. The principal forced her to apologize, banned her from giving drawings to classmates, and excluded her from recess for two weeks. Image

It's not just California and New York. All across the nation, blue states are committing political and economic suicide by targeting millionaires with high taxes. Who will suffer most from this misguided, ideologically driven push to punish the wealthy? Wage workers and the poor.

Yamaha, Exxon's blue-state exits only the latest in money and business fleeing to MAGA states   Businesses leaving California in recent years often cite the state's high taxes, burdensome regulations and elevated cost of doing business as key factors driving the decisions. California's corporate income tax rate stands at 8.84%, among the highest in the nation, while its top personal income tax rate of 13.3% affects executives and employees.

Whatever Happened to Confidentiality?  A government that can peer into your medical file, your legal records, your spiritual life, and your finances without resistance is not a guardian of rights but rather an overlord.

Potomac Disaster Demonstrates Environmental Hypocrisy  How does the wealthiest nation on Earth allow a major river to become a septic system? At least in part, by having modern environmentalism hijacked by a climate industrial complex that obsessively demonizes carbon dioxide, a colorless, odorless gas essential for life. While the likes of Governor Moore direct billions to so-called green programs to address a fabricated climate crisis, a 60-year-old line—six feet in diameter—is allowed to deteriorate to the point of releasing toxins that are an immediate threat to wildlife and a hazard to people.

"Progressives" at teachers' colleges pushed a reading technique called "Balanced Literacy."  
Instead of memorizing sounds and letters, teachers push what they call "cueing," guessing words based on their context, or pictures.
Balanced Literacy downplays "structured phonics," the older technique where kids memorize letters' sounds and learn to sound out words.
Balanced Literacy does sound more fun than boring phonics drills. Progressives said it would make kids want to read.
It mostly didn't.
