Christians Uniquely Positioned to Offer Hope in Aftermath of Dennis

(CEN, July 11, 2005) – Christian Emergency Network (CEN) Founder and Chairman Mary Marr reminds Christians today, “Even if you are not directly affected by Hurricane Dennis, the best thing you can do to help now is to prayerfully consider assisting Christian organizations, even though public appeals generally overlook Christian organizations such as the Salvation Army and instead refer people to secular relief organizations.”

She explained, “By doing so, Christians will be giving of their time, talents and money to those organizations which, in a time of disaster, understand that it is the hope found in Jesus that offers the only true eternal results.” She added, “Christians know that government, while able to respond with tangible assistance, cannot turn fear and hopelessness around in a crisis. Jesus is the only one with lasting Hope and Christians have the ability to share Him today for such a time as this.”
