In fields, parking lots, or among the ruins of former church buildings, churchgoers met last Sunday to thank God for sparing their lives, loved ones, and for providing comfort during and after the storm. Churches have become shelters and relief centers for refugees and neighbors looking for a way to help. Last Sunday was no different as churches collected donations and offered assistance to the victims of Katrina.
