Cardinal's warning on women bishops

The Church of England will stage a crucial debate on women bishops today after hearing warnings from Roman Catholic leaders that the move would cause irreparable damage to their relations.

Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, the head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, expressed disappointment that the Church of England was pressing ahead with the divisive reform.
