Security increases at U.S. airports

Passengers in the United States coped with heightened security and flight cancellations at airports Thursday after authorities in London uncovered a terror plot aimed at airlines traveling from Britain to the U.S.
Specifically, the airlines included United Airlines, American Airlines and Continental Airlines Inc., two counterterrorism officials said Thursday, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.
American Airlines canceled six Thursday flights between the United States and London to accommodate the delays at Heathrow airport, spokesman John Hotard said. the rest
