Business as usual for Episcopalians days after failed election

Three days after Episcopalians in the Diocese of South Carolina learned their bishop-elect failed to earn enough legitimate consent votes from standing committees nationwide, it was business as usual at parishes throughout the Lowcountry.
Few among the faithful seemed concerned with politics, preferring to make Sunday's worship similar to other Sundays.
At Grace Church in downtown Charleston, parishioners filed in before the 11 a.m. service, greeting friends and colleagues. The choir and a few instrumentalists wrapped up rehearsal. The sun shone bright and clear, and the good cheer seemed to find its way into the sanctuary. The Rev. Canon J. Michael Wright was preparing a sermon appropriate for the fourth Sunday of Lent.
