Remaining ecumenical
A new Vatican document need not, and should not, hinder ongoing ecumenical dialogue. From the Journal Sentinel

Judith Longdin is right: The Vatican's release of a document on its long-held belief in the pri-macy of the Catholic Church should not have a dampening effect on ecumenical dialogue here or elsewhere.
Certainly, Bishop Steven Miller of the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee doesn't believe it will. He anticipates that his "good working relationship" and prayer and study sessions with Milwaukee Catholic Archbishop Timothy Dolan will continue.
That's a welcome approach and one we hope continues among all people of faith in the region.
Many other Christian denominations and people of other faiths maintain that their path is the only path to heaven, but that doesn't have to bar them from working together on matters of common interest on Earth. The flip side of the coin is that while working together - and praying and studying together - promotes important values of understanding and tolerance, it should not mean abandoning core beliefs. the rest
