Wichita abortion provider pleads not guilty to 19 misdemeanor counts

WICHITA
George Tiller’s attorneys entered not guilty pleas Friday to misdemeanor charges related to late-term abortions.
Tiller turned himself in to the Sedgwick County sheriff’s office for processing on the charges and was released on his own recognizance, commonly done in misdemeanor cases, his attorney said.
Tiller had been scheduled for his first court appearance on Tuesday.
Ashley Anstaett, spokeswoman for Attorney General Paul Morrison, said defense attorneys worked out a deal with Sedgwick County District Judge Gregory Waller, allowing Tiller to turn himself in and get processed while an attorney represented him in court. the rest
