A last-minute court injunction cleared the way for temporarily ousted priests at Metchosin's St. Mary of the Incarnation Anglican Church to return to the pulpit yesterday.
The court decision came as a surprise to the Anglican Diocese of B.C., which had issued a statement Saturday saying alternate leadership at the Metchosin Road church would be in place for services.
The situation at the church began with a February vote in which parishioners voted 105-14 to separate from the national Anglican body over a variety of issues, including interpretation of scripture and the blessing of same-sex marriage.
The majority of Metchosin parishioners are now aligned with the parallel Anglican Network in Canada, which opposes same-sex unions. the rest
