The Lambeth conference, one of the most important symbols of Anglican unity, takes place every 10 years in Canterbury. But the 2008 summit, which finished two weeks ago, was held amid an atmosphere of boycotts and recrimination over the 230 bishops who stayed away ­- and the one who was never invited.
