Prayer for GAFCON Primates

O Lord,
Surely Your salvation is near to them that fear You–You look down from heaven, give that which is good, and set us in the way of Your steps. May Your Truth spring out of the earth where the GAFCON primates meet.

You beckon us to come to You, to slake our thirst in You, to take the water of life freely. You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Be present at this meeting, we pray.

Lord, we in the Anglican Communion are a church of factions. We pray that all those who fear You will meet in mercy and truth. We yearn to be pleasing in Your eyes, a Communion holy and set apart for Your delight.

You are the Prince of Peace. Clothe the Anglican Communion in righteousness. Peace and righteousness kiss each other. O Lord, our Crucified Prince, we long for Your kisses. Kiss us, O Lord, for Your love is better than wine. Kiss us with many kisses. In Your love, help us to crucify all that which separates us from You. Forgive us of our sins. May Your glory dwell in the Anglican Communion on this day. Amen.

There is a post-Lambeth Conference lull in activity. I think it important for us to be vigilant in our prayers as the consequences of the GAFCON and Lambeth Conferences unfold.
The GAFCON primates will meet on August 20-24.
