Victory: California Marriage Proposition 8 Passes in Historic Battle

Victory: California Marriage Proposition 8 Passes in Historic Battle
By John Jalsevac

November 5, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The homosexualist lobby received one of its stiffest blows in years, and one which may ultimately serve as a permanent setback for same-sex “marriage” in the US, after California’s Proposition 8, the ballot measure to define marriage as being exclusively between a man and a woman, is projected to pass by a narrow majority vote.

The proposition was ahead by margin of 52% to 48% with 95% of precincts reporting as of 8am today. The referendum called for the California constitution to be amended by adding the phrase: "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."

The vote marks the second time that Californian voters have voted to protect natural marriage in the state. In a 2000 referendum Californians overwhelmingly voted for marriage, passing Proposition 22 with a 61% to 38% majority. the rest image

I am sorry that your marriage is so weak that he have to deny others the right to marry those whom they love. If you are truly Christian you will search your heart because he have not defeated a lobby. You have destroyed 18,000 legal marriages in California and denied basic rights to millions of people just because you do not happen to agree with them. I pity you and people like you and pray that the evil bigotry be lifted from your heart.

One article on the response of the gay community to these propositions:

http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=80220

Here are some quotes from it:

'Burn their f---ing churches, then tax charred timbers'

On a blog website, "Tread" wrote, "I hope the No on 8 people have a long list and long knives."

"Can someone in CA please go burn down the Mormon temples there, PLEASE. I mean seriously. DO IT."

As part of their faith, many people believe that the practice of homosexuality is wrong-as reflected in Scripture-this is not hate or bigotry. The above responses, however, certainly look like hate and bigotry to me, plus a few threats thrown in. Read the rest; it is shameful.
