Archbishop to ask drinkers 'can God mend broken Britain'

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, will speak to young drinkers in a city centre bar tomorrow.
The event, organised by Solace, a church group that meets in Cardiff pubs, will see the Archbishop pose the question: “Can God mend broken Britain?”.
It is hoped hundreds of people will attend Edwards on St Mary Street – which boasts a stretch of bars usually popular with hen and stag parties – for the discussion.
A question-and-answer session with Dr Williams will follow his address. the rest

I think only people can "mend broken Britian" if that is the term you prefer to use. I personally would not regard Britain as "Broken" probably "Bankrupt" but this is not something God can resolve unless he has been in talk's with Gordon Brown.
We should all be responsible for own own actions but sometimes need help from family and friends along the way. The rest is up to us as individuals. The strengh our family and friends provide, help us to become stronger people who can then help others.
The problem is, too many people expect help and do not grow stronger. They then drain the life out of the people who set out to help them.
We are all individuals and should not rely on a "God" or anyone else to help us in our lives. Most people who have been through bad times are helped by friends and family. I have yet to hear from someone that is being helped on a daily basis from God.
You have probably realised by now that I am not a Religious person. I realise that some people gain strength from Religion. I personally gain strength from "Life". If I can learn something new each day then I can help to "Mend Broken Britain" as you prefer to call it.
I don't intend to be offensive to your Religion in any way, but I am worried about what you are trying to sell to people who may be in need of comfort.
I personally would prefer to know how the "Drinkers" that meet the Archbishop are intending to improve their lives themselves. Will you just be telling them that God will make things right for them?
How is the sex aid site working out? Do you think we could establish somnething like this in our area to create jobs?
