A pro-family activist is questioning why there is no outrage over the murder of a college student by a homosexual.

On November 21, William Smithson, 43, of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to life in prison for the September 2006 strangulation murder of 23-year-old Jason Shephard.

Smithson, a homosexual, murdered Shephard after slipping him GHB, a date rape drug, then hid the body in the basement of his home. Diane Gramley, president of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania, says it is ironic that homosexuals used the murder ten years ago of Matthew Shepherd to push for hate crimes laws -- yet remain largely silent about the murder of Jason Shephard. the rest

The parallels the author tries to draw between this case & Jason Shephard (from a few years back) are ridiculous, and the author obviously knows nothing about the actual events of the case. Jason Shepard (from back then) was an actual Hate crime where he was murdered because he was gay. The current Smithson case was a case of an attempted rape gone wrong, and a terrible cover up, due to smithson's own fantasy about the victim. Smithson didn't 'Hate' the victim. Both situations are truly horrible, but to connect the two and equate them is WRONG in the extreme.

Wow. Murder of a homosexual is hate. Murder by a homosexual who is in the process of raping someone (meaning that person did not consent) has no hate involved. Rape=love?

Your comments are an excellent example of how ludicrous the so-called "hate crimes" legislation is. My husband and many other attorneys find these laws a farce. They exist to promote special agendas.

The point of this story is the "cover-up" and hypocrisy by the mainstream media and the homosexual community.

Shameful!
