4th state adopts abortion opt-out

A number of states are moving on legislation to opt out of abortion coverage in healthcare reform legislation.

Critics say one of the major problems with the new healthcare law is related to federal funding of abortion. But a provision allows states to make a decision.

Attorney Mary Harned of Americans United for Life (AUL) reports that four states have passed bills modeled after the organization's Abortion-Mandate Opt-Out Act."Three of the opt-outs -- Arizona, Mississippi and Tennessee -- would all prevent plans that cover abortion from participating in their exchanges," Harned Explains.
