Liberals Have Killed the Liberal Arts; Another Huge Obamacare Insurance Premium Hike Coming...more

Liberals Have Killed the Liberal Arts
...Political correctness has corroded the humanities and social studies, as recently noted by David Patten in The Federalist and last year by Harvey Silverglate in the Wall Street Journal. After rejecting their objective anchors in the academic canon of classical texts, these fields succumbed to passionate group thinking and sybaritic self-absorption. The arts have become a free-for-all, as witnessed by the plethora of departments categorized by identity politics and demands for “trigger warnings” for traumatized souls. (The offending list should include “eigenvectors” and “thermodynamics”—terms that strike engineering sophomores with utmost dread.)...

The (Biblical) Sex Talk: What the Church Should Be Doing  ...Sadly, in spite of my Christian upbringing, no one ever told me what was wrong with the hook up culture. In fact, sex before marriage was encouraged by much of my Christian family and by the unanimous agreement of my Christian friends, who both mentioned preventing unwanted pregnancies, but never voiced the option of abstinence. What is worse, I never heard about the topic of sex in church. It was not until my involvement with a Christian campus ministry that I heard someone speak against premarital sex using biblical teaching.

This being my experience, I urge the Church, particularly parents raising children in the Church, to speak out on this issue and embrace the God’s intention for sex. Parents, do not make your child wait until he is a legal adult to hear about it from someone else. Talking about it may be awkward, but it could save your child from making a huge mistake and dealing with a lifetime of baggage for it...

FBI behind mysterious surveillance aircraft over US cities The FBI is operating a small air force with scores of low-flying planes across the country carrying video and, at times, cellphone surveillance technology — all hidden behind fictitious companies that are fronts for the government, The Associated Press has learned.

The planes' surveillance equipment is generally used without a judge's approval, and the FBI said the flights are used for specific, ongoing investigations. In a recent 30-day period, the agency flew above more than 30 cities in 11 states across the country, an AP review found...

Church of England continues to haemorrhage members as Muslim population grows tenfold in a generation ...Membership of the Church of England has dropped sharply in Britain in the last two years while the number of Muslims has grown, a new survey has revealed.

The British Social Attitudes survey found that the proportion of British adults describing themselves as Anglican has fallen from 21 per cent in 2012 to 17 per cent in 2014, a loss of around 1.7 million. That brings the number of Anglicans in Britain to 8.6 million people...

Americans, 3-1, say Obama is losing fight against ISIS

Another Huge Obamacare Insurance Premium Hike Coming  Despite President Obama’s repeated claims that Americans’ insurance rates would decrease, once again we see just the opposite as health insurers are seeking yet another massive hike in Obamacare premiums.

Every year since the passage of Obamacare, insurance premiums have risen, sometimes nearly 50 percent, quite despite that Obama claimed at least 19 times that he’d save every American $2,500 a year on their insurance. Far from saving Americans money, the average cost has soared to over $5,000 a year.

Early in March it was reported that Obamacare customers were going to see a significant hike in their premiums...

Afghan Interpreter Awaiting US Visa Tortured and Murdered by Taliban ...Sakhidad Afghan worked as a translator for the U.S. Marines and Air Force since around 2008. Four years ago, he applied for a U.S. visa under a program for at-risk military translators. He was still on the waiting list when the Taliban reportedly kidnapped him from a bazaar this spring and executed him in the back of a trailer truck. Each year, thousands of Afghan interpreters under threat from anti-American militants sit in bureaucratic limbo, waiting for visas they were promised by the U.S. military. Advocacy groups said it is unlikely Sakhidad Afghan was the first translator killed while on the list, although the deaths are often difficult to confirm...
