This is outrageous, and it’s stunning that the taxpayers in this community are putting up with it.

Yet in all that time, neither the Vatican, nor the Latin Patriarch in Jerusalem, uttered a syllable of protest at the mistreatment of Christians by Hamas. They no doubt believed that any protest would simply anger Hamas further, and lead to still greater persecution of the Christians in Gaza. But is that calculation correct? By never criticizing Hamas, the Pope leaves the Christians in Gaza without a champion. The Vatican might at least have tried, quietly, to protest the condition of the Christians in the Strip; Hamas, just as quietly, might have responded by promising to ease up on its mistreatment of Christians, in order to head off a public rebuke from the Pope. Why should the Papacy not have given it a try, instead of currying Hamas’ favor by blaming Israel for attacks on Christians it had nothing to do with?

When these companies start losing in court because they valued something other than excellence, then they will discover that diversity is not our strength; excellence is, and always was. But that won’t bring back to life those killed, or heal those maimed, so that the ruling class can morally indulge itself in woke ideology.

As a result, California leads the nation in homelessness, drug addiction, income inequality, out-migration, tax burdens, regulation, and busted budgets. This is when voters might do something truly daring and take a chance on candidates from the party that didn't lead the state to ruin, but for the foreseeable future, groupthink probably makes choosing impossible.
