When it comes to AI, be afraid, be very afraid  The promise of AI, we hear over and over again, is that it’s a tool to help humans do better, automating tasks to free up worker time for other things. But instead, AI looks far more like HAL 9000 in “2001: A Space Odyssey,” a computer that overtakes its human masters’ ability to control it and turns against humanity.

Florida to Consider Legalization of Marijuana Amidst Alarming Evidence of Harm  First of all, marijuana is not the pot of yesterday. Today’s marijuana is a high-potency industrialized THC (the “high” producer) drug that is up to 99% potency as compared to the 3% THC of 60s. This industrialization makes it even more addictive and more dangerous. And ingesting this modern weed -- whether by smoking, eating Gummy bears, candies, concentrates, waxes, or vaping -- has brought a host of health hazards.
The high potency of marijuana has been associated with a higher risk of heart attack and stroke, and cannabis-induced psychosis. We also learn from the CDC that three in 10 people who use marijuana have marijuana-use disorder. And according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), approximately 1 in 10 people who use marijuana will become addicted. With repeated use, there is even an increased risk of schizophrenia and social anxiety. And, if that were not enough, suicides by cannabis users continue to climb.

The Left's Obsession With Job-Killing 'Green' Policies Is Bringing It Into Conflict With One of Its Most Important Voting Blocs The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) opted to suspend a multi-billion dollar effort to upgrade thousands of miles of gas lines in Chicago, prompting the politically-connected International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150 to push back against what it perceives to be a job-killing decision made in pursuit of a broader climate agenda, according to E&E News. The union’s 510(c)(4) organization has run advertisements in the Chicago area urging residents to call on “(Democratic Illinois) Gov. (J.B.) Pritzker and the ICC to decarbonize the right way.”
