Bluntly put, without cheap and reliable energy, which is what we get from fossil fuels, an economy turns sclerotic. Which is why the political left works so feverishly to end gas and oil. As we have said so many times before, the agenda behind cutting greenhouse gases is in actuality an assault on capitalism, which, as the legendary Milton Friedman famously said, is the only economic system that has enabled the masses to escape from “grinding poverty.”

And just as the whole thing looked as if it were going to spiral out of control — when it seemed likely that “just-following-orders” medical doctors and troupes of dancing nurses would goose-step across the country with poison-dripping needles in their hands in search of the “noncompliant” — the COVID police state began crumbling.
Here's the shocking truth: During 2020-2021, the Small Business Administration handed out 5,593 loans totaling $312 million to "business owners" who were 11 years old or younger. That's right — while our kids were stuck in Zoom school, we’re supposed to believe that a bunch of their classmates were apparently running multimillion-dollar enterprises. Even better, these pint-sized entrepreneurs all used Social Security numbers that didn't match their names...
...But wait; there's more! The SBA wasn't content just funding kindergarten startups — they also approved 3,095 loans worth $333 million to borrowers over 115 years old. One particularly industrious 157-year-old scored a cool $36,000.

I don't believe for a minute that Sheinbaum will advocate the return of human sacrifices. This is, after all, the 21st century. That said, while people are not being nominally sacrificed to Huitzilopchtli or Molech, how many babies have been killed in the name of convenience and rights here in the U.S.?
Brutality, depravity, slavery, and murder continue apace even in the harsh digital glare of the 21st century. The names of the deity may change, but the focus is still on self-aggrandizement and satisfaction. People will gladly trade one set of brutalities for another, so long as there is something for them in it, somewhere. Christians have done horrible things, but to suggest that anyone's culture has clean hands is pure folly.

Wade in 1973, over 66 million abortions have occurred in the United States alone. To us, this isn’t a triumph of autonomy; it’s a loss of incomprehensible magnitude. Honoring those who carry out these acts, often for profit, strikes us as not only misguided but morally upside-down.
Democrat’s bill offers free rent and early release for murderers, child molesters...so long as they didn’t kill more than two victims, the apparent threshold for Democratic sympathy Legislators should protect communities, not gamble with public safety to score ideological points. Offering offenders taxpayer-subsidized housing vouchers and early release is neither justice nor mercy. It’s an invitation for tragedy—and unfortunately, the public pays the price while Democrats campaign off their supposed compassion for juvenile offenders who “just made a careless mistake.”

Protesters Go After JD Vance's Toddler...a group of pro-Ukraine protesters followed them and shouted at the three-year-old little girl, making her "anxious and scared." A couple of minutes of cell phone video of Vance speaking to the protesters has emerged online. It shows him with his daughter in a stroller on a city sidewalk, calmly explaining the Trump administration's position on the war in Ukraine, or trying to, but it appears that the usual suspects — white women with purple hair and silly costumes — keep shouting at him and calling him names while he talks. I don't know that I could be as gracious as he was about it.

But, like Judd Garrett in his article, I will cut the President of the United States some slack, even when he says or does something that concerns me, even as the stock market tumbles as it did today, as long as he gets the most important long-term things right. And I will not surrender to the jackals in the ancien régime media who try to hamstring him every time he makes a decision because bringing him down is their instinct and their moral imperative. Like the scorpion, it is in their nature.
