New GA Bill Mandates Ultrasounds Before Abortions

A bill requiring that a woman would have to beoffered a look at an ultrasound image of her fetus beforeundergoing an abortion is on its way to the full Senate after being approved by a committee.
The bill sponsored by Senator Nancy Schaefer of Turnervillewould mandate that ultrasounds be offered on women seekingabortions. The woman would then be given the chance to see theimage. The bill is a top legislative priority for anti-abortion activists in Georgia this session.
