Nigeria: Anglican Communion Consecrates New Bishops

The Anglican Communion in Nigeria has consecrated six new bishops to further its quest for evangelism in Nigeria.

The consecration which took place at The Good Shephard Cathedral Enugu, was presided over by the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Archbishop Peter Akinola.

Akinola advised the newly-consecrated bishops to "shephard the sheep placed under them in a true and forthright way devoid of deceit".

He emphasised the need to approach the people with undiluted words of God as a way of building a new generation of Christians that would move the church and Christianity forward.
