Episcopalian dissent grows louder
Conservatives install "missionary bishop" who will be assisted by retired Albany leader

Tensions within the Anglican Communion deepened over the weekend as Nigerian Archbishop Peter Akinola installed the Rev. Martyn Minns as "missionary bishop" of a group he created for conservative American Episcopalians disaffected with the U.S. Episcopal Church.

The latest development in this long-running international drama has a prominent local connection. David Bena, a recently retired assistant bishop in the Albany Episcopal Diocese, participated in Saturday's installation of Minns and will be his assistant.
