Mission airline evacuates staff from Chad

A MISSION agency which provides aviation services to some of Africa’s most remote regions has begun to evacuate its staff from Chad following heavy fighting in the capital, N’Djamena.

The Mission Aviation Fellowship began evacuating its staff from Chad to Cameroon on Friday, but confirmed today that it is to repatriate all its staff and families from Chad.

Last Saturday rebel leaders advanced on Chad’s capital, N’Djaména causing thousands to flee. Following two days of heavy fighting, the government claims they have driven the rebels out.
