On July 29, 2016, thirteen and a half years after we got him, valiant, feisty, intrepid Herschel went to sleep after bravely living with a large tumor for several months.  We miss him terribly, but we are grateful to have had him for so long.  He was a neighborhood institution and many share our loss.  -Raymond and Pat Dague
