Bidenomics' Fiscal Crisis and Assault on Homeownership; Biden bars oil drilling in Alaska; AI Deities...more

Over the course of the next decade, Bidenomics will add more than $4 trillion to the cost of paying interest on the national debt.

In other words, Congress would have to cut spending by $400 billion every year, just to offset the increase in interest payments thanks to Biden’s reckless fiscal policies.

This, folks, is a crisis. It’s one that has been building for quite some time.

Biden Bars Oil Exploration on 13 Million Acres of Arctic Wilderness  “Today’s announcement sets a concerning precedent for the future of oil and natural gas leasing on federal lands, said Holly Hopkins, a vice president at the American Petroleum Institute. Hopkins said that Biden was sending “mixed signals” about drilling in the United States.

Indeed, Joe Biden has been talking out of both sides of his mouth on oil drilling. Remember last summer when he accused the oil companies of price gouging and not drilling for oil fast enough? Now that he needs environmentalists to get behind him for his re-election campaign, it’s safe to vilify the oil companies again.

The Biden administration’s assault on homeownership isn’t just harmful to the families that are being priced out of the market. It’s bad for communities and cities around the country. When families become homeowners and set roots in a town, they are much more prone to care about not just improving their own house and maintaining the upkeep and mowing the lawn and trimming the hedges, but it gives them a stake in the schools and children in the neighborhood and the quality of public services. In other words, homeownership gives Americans a sense of de Tocquevillian civic pride.

AI Deities – Trivializing Jesus (and Satan)...A new AI App offers "a divine connection in your pocket.”  The concern I have with “Text with Jesus” is the potential for it to make Jesus too familiar. At this point, AI Jesus bears no resemblance to the Jesus of the Bible. “Text with Jesus,” for instance, would not even offer an unqualified “yes” when I asked whether Jesus was really God. While the stark difference between the biblical portrayal of Jesus and AI Jesus may seem comforting, we shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss AI Jesus simply because it doesn’t live up to our theological standards just yet. Instead, we should be concerned about the basic dynamic the app encourages.

Whether or not the app is “intended” to replace other religious practices, it is difficult to believe that “Text with Jesus” won’t diminish the perceived importance of practices like Bible study and prayer.

“Civilization” or “being civilized” are not terms that are wholly easy to define.  Vagaries and degrees can exist; it would be hard to argue that any human being is totally “uncivilized” or that any human being (or culture) has a monopoly on the term.  We tend to think of “civilized” societies as those who possess at least a modicum of decent behavior and progress.  Perhaps “civilization” can best be defined—though possibly not with total accuracy—as a distinction between man and the animal kingdom, or in the word Durant used, the “jungle.”

As my friend sees it, health care in the USA has become “herd health care” vs individualized.  Everything is protocol. There is no independent thinking allowed by any corporate doctor, and if a doctor does think independently or try to treat a patient as an individual, he is fired.

My friend has concluded that if you are a doctor in a hospital, you pull the protocol, read from the protocol, and that’s it. Apparently it is protocol to just kill people, without saying you are killing people. So euthanasia is in effect as a result of protocol.

Informed consent died a grotesque death in the hospitals during COVID, and we need an autopsy.  There was no information, and there was no consent, and without them, patients are reduced to helpless victims, exploited for corrupt financial gain and immoral experiments.

Female Prisoners Sexually Assaulted, Impregnated by ‘Trans’ Inmates.  An inmate at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in New Jersey has filed a lawsuit against the NJ Department of Corrections after being sexually assaulted by a biologically male prisoner, alleging guards failed to take “corrective action” against the “sexually aggressive and harassing behavior of the transgenders” in the facility even after two other inmates were impregnated by them. The plaintiff said she complained to the prison authorities after the assault, but ended up being disciplined herself. She also said biological males were often housed in areas not covered by surveillance cameras, providing them with more opportunities to abuse female inmates.

Even worse, the course description for the class that this soon-to-be tenured faculty is going to teach reads, as mentioned, as follows:
Advanced methods of analyzing literature and culture are taught through a set of focused readings of theories, histories, perspectives, and/or major figures in LGBTQ, women’s and/or gender studies. Readings may include Audre Lorde, Sarah Ahmed, Gloria Anzaldua, and Kimberle Crenshaw.
Great, so the English Department at the Naval Academy has an elective that has nothing to do with…..English…..and everything to do with woke “LGBTQ, women’s and/or gender studies.”

Across the country, more students are placing into pre-college math, reports AP's Collin Binkley. "At many universities, engineering and biology majors are struggling to grasp fractions and exponents."

At George Mason in Northern Virginia, fewer would-be STEM majors are getting into calculus and more are failing, he writes.

“We’re talking about college-level pre-calculus and calculus classes, and students cannot even add one-half and one-third,”  said Maria Emelianenko, chair of George Mason’s math department.

What rights are LGBTQ people unable to exercise due to government or social restrictions?  The other day I ran across an FB post with the hashtag “LGBTQ rights are human rights” and it got me thinking. What rights, exactly, do people who use that hashtag believe are not recognized for LGBTQ folks or what rights are LGBTQ people unable to exercise due to government or social restrictions? Seriously, what are they missing? Marriage? Got it. Speech? Got it. Access to healthcare? Got it. Religion? Got it. Housing? Got it. Jobs? Got ‘em. What are they missing?

‘Sound Of Freedom’ Dominates In 18 Latin American Countries  “We set a goal of reaching 2 million in advance ticket sales—which took a full week in the US—and reached that goal in just four days in Latin America,” Geesy continued. “This film is fast-becoming a global movement for change.”

EV’s are, it turns out, incredibly dangerous to work on. The electric voltage technicians work with could kill mechanics very quickly. Then there’s the fire hazard with EV batteries.

And the specialized diagnostic equipment needed to service EV’s is putting off most small, independent repair shops that experts agree are going to be needed to keep the cost of repairs and warranties down.

"It's Just Bizarre That Some People Still Want COVID Measures..."  ...and the sprinkling of news stories currently cropping up seem to just play to that increasingly small and oddball base.
