How a republic ends; Biden has taken over 200 actions against US oil...more

No 10 Downing Street has said a move by Belgium Police to shut down a Nat Con conference taking place in Brussels is 'extremely disturbing'.
An emergency legal challenge has been filed over the decision by the authorities to prohibit the conservative conference from continuing from 12pm today.
The venue was surrounded by police and speakers and guests were denied entry. Those already inside were told to stay there. Image

SCOTUS will rule in June 2024 on a First Amendment free speech case the federal judge called “the most massive attack against free speech in United States history” and the circuit court judge described as “fairly unsubtle strong-arming” by government officials using “mafiosi style” threats to increase regulation.  Should government officials immediately cease contacting social media companies to censor content, with exceptions for illegal speech?

The Trump trial is a precursor to how a republic ends...Not with a bang, but a perversion of the law  But never doubt the ingenuity of bureaucrats armed with the tools of a weaponized department of justice. The Wall Street Journal had an excellent summary of the bizarre hermeneutical gymnastics that went into turning a possible minor misdemeanor into a thirty-four-count felony charge.

It Won't Surprise You to Know Who Is Bailing Out Palestinian Bridge Blockers A radical left-wing dark money group with close ties to the George Soros-funded Tides Foundation has been paying bail for dozens of "Free Palestine" protesters who have been blocking bridges and shutting down highways in recent months.

Nearly 25K Chinese at U.S. Borders in 6 Months, 37K% Increase in 3 Years In his opening statements during a budget hearing on Tuesday, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) raised the issue of a record number of Chinese nationals crossing U.S. borders on DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’s watch.
“Beijing has shown that if we give an inch, they will take a mile, and Mr. Secretary, you have given them all 1,951 miles of our southwest border,” Green told Mayorkas.

Other actions ahead of the midterm elections include threatening to tax the oil and natural gas industry, blaming them for profiteering. Roughly six months before the general election, his administration has proposed $110 billion tax hikes on oil, natural gas and coal. In response, U.S. Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., led a coalition of 24 senators expressing “grave concern” about his “continued hostility towards American energy production.”

Now President Joe Biden is running for reelection with the opposite message: Stop complaining. Everything is going great. Some of his sycophants in Congress and his stooges in the media are now complaining that the problem isn't Biden's failed policies, it's that Americans are just too stupid to understand how good things are today.

New NPR Chief Katherine Maher's Guide to the Holidays   Maher’s commentary dating back to the early Obama years is a gold mine of unintentional comedy. She’s gotten the most heat for using phrases like “As someone with cis white mobility privilege,” and “Sure, looting is counterproductive, but…”

It would be impossible to create a resume of a person more disconnected from Americans and more intertwined with the wealthy, urban, globalist elite who run the largest banks, media companies, and nonprofit groups in the United States. In other words, Maher has the perfect resume to run NPR.

Last week, the Cass Report, written by the pediatrician Hilary Cass at the request of England’s National Health Service, made waves by calling into question the medical justification for hormonal and surgical treatments of gender-dysphoric youth demanded by activist groups and embraced by the medical establishment. The report states that the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones should be discontinued, not least because their long-term effects are unknown. Instead of taking narrow claims of dysphoria at face value, Cass adopts a holistic approach, arguing that such statements must be considered “within the context of poor mental health and emotional distress among the broader adolescent population.”

That's Impossible! Vegan 'Meat' Not So Good for You After All Current vegan "meats" like Beyond Meat, Fauxjerky, Cow Patty’s, or I Can’t Believe It’s Not Sausage "can be high in salt, saturated fat, and additives in order to match the taste and texture of real meat products," according to Haldar. His study showed that people who eat the stuff "also seemingly had worse blood pressure than their meat-consuming counterparts." Image
