UMC-Callously Breaking Covenant; America’s Jenga Tower of Power ...more

Callously Breaking Covenant: Reflections on UMC General Conference   This Sunday, many Methodists, large percentages of which are elderly, will have  difficult decisions to make. To lose one’s church is a kind of death. It is not because of the physical building but the community of faith that exists within it and who hold it as a central part of their lives. Fellowship has always been important to United Methodists, and much fellowshipping happens within the walls of our churches. Its loss will be particularly hard on the elderly, who will be robbed of the ability to finish out their lives serving Christ in the churches to which they have dedicated so much of their lives.
Delegates to General Conference celebrated the end of disaffiliations. Praising unity and instead, insultingly offered a path for reaffiliation for churches that have departed. In 2019, “gracious exits” were offered for churches who could not affirm the outcome of the conference, then it was liberal members of the church who lost at conference. But in 2024, those liberals, now in the majority, denied that mercy to those who might wish to exit, and they praised themselves for denying to others the grace that was shown to them.

We still have a pyramid of sorts, but it has been inverted.  Unaccountable spy agencies, central banks, and multinational corporations possess expansive, unchecked powers at the top.  That power trickles down to administrative agencies, federal police forces, courts, White House officials, and members of Congress.  The federal government treats the states as vassals obliged to do its bidding.  And at the very bottom is the lone citizen who is expected to obey.  Because the Bill of Rights is an easy-to-understand operations manual for a functioning American power pyramid, that pesky document has been buried six feet underground.
You would think that those who play Jenga with Americans’ lives would have learned something from the collapse of the Iron Curtain and the fall of the Soviet Union: with the weight of so much power on top, the whole tower will inevitably crash.

The Neo-Nazi Left...It’s time to call the enemy by its true name.  We make a fundamental mistake in not calling the Left what it is and exposing the true horror of its plans for all of us. And when we fail to do that, then we’re surprised at what comes next.
Why do we call it the Neo-Nazi Left? Because its goal is to impose a socialist state through the mass murder of millions of people, particularly but not exclusively Jews. Much as in Nazi Germany, those people include political dissenters and anyone else they see as standing in their way. What Stalin and Hitler failed to accomplish, they hope to achieve through many of the same methods.
What is happening at Columbia University, Yale and many other schools is not an aberration, like the Weathermen plans to kill 25 million Americans, it’s the truest expression of an ugly extremist movement that has learned nothing from its worst crimes in the twentieth century.
And we ignore their tactics and threats at our peril.

Notably, 90% of Planned Parenthood’s global efforts focus on countries where unborn babies have strong legal protections from abortion… In one example, Planned Parenthood worked to chip away complete protections for the unborn in Mexico. The abortion giant claimed that due to its efforts, unborn babies in Quintana Roo can now be killed through abortion up to 12 weeks gestation.

Pro-Palestinian Activists Are Committing the Crime that Trump Is Accused Of: ‘Conspiracy Against Rights‘  Pro-Palestinian activists are arguably committing committing the crime of “Conspiracy Against Rights” in their nationwide “encampments” at universities. But they are not being charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Instead, the DOJ is charging former President Donald Trump with that same crime over his alleged role in the Capitol riot. The DOJ is ignoring an actual conspiracy to violate the civil rights of Jews, while chasing a political prosecution.

Biden-Harris a Profile in Cowardice on Campus Disorder   More than a day late and a dollar short, President Biden says that breaking the law on college campuses is wrong. But he’s still ahead of his vice president, the former prosecutor, who for weeks has had absolutely nothing to say about the lawlessness that took over college campuses. If the objective for the protesters was to make some noise and postpone finals, maybe they accomplished what they set out to do. But if their objective was to influence or change U.S. public opinion, they failed miserably.

Harvard Commencement Speaker Published Editorial Likening Israel to Hitler  Ressa's comments on the Israel-Gaza war, and her news outlet's editorial stance, could add to concerns about Harvard's promotion of anti-Israel views. Comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany, as well as holding Israel to standards not applied to other countries, could be considered anti-Semitic under the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's working definition.

Since late January much has been discovered about Boeing Corporation in the wake of a near mid-air catastrophe at 16,000 feet when a panel, known as, the left, mid-exit door plug, blew off an Alaska Airlines 737-900 aircraft. The dramatic event has been punctuated by revelations by multiple whistleblowers describing failed quality-control processes, documentation inconsistencies, petty bosses, and an adherence to prescriptive management tactics that flowed from the corporate board and C-suite.

Elections in Yorkshire: The Muslim Empire strikes back hard at Ye Olde England  Once, England controlled a quarter of the globe—her Empire—bringing both Anglo-Saxon and Biblical values and stable governance wherever she went. England and the English were often deeply flawed, but those core values were and are good. But now, the former British Empire is striking back and taking England and the rest of the West with it.
