We have come a long way from Michelangelo’s extraordinary frescoes on the Sistine Chapel ceiling to “Luce.” We have come an even longer way from John Paul II’s magnificent homily when the restoration of those frescoes was completed—in which the pope spoke of the Sistina as the “sanctuary of the theology of the body”—to the notion that a vaguely androgynous, although putatively female, anime character is going to bring young adults to Christ.

NYC: United HealthCare CEO Shot Dead in Apparent Targeted Attack  According to reports, a masked gunman shot and killed United HealthCare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, in Manhattan on Wednesday morning.

Two men acted in self-defense on the NYC subway; only one was indicted   I’m not saying that Jordan Williams should have been indicted. I’m just wondering why Daniel Penny was. It looks very much as if New York City has become the ugly mirror image of Mississippi circa 1925. It’s not what you’ve done or didn’t do; it’s what color your skin is.

So significant in fact that the people of America-especially Republicans-owe the Amish a long heartfelt thank you that stretches far into the future, because not only did they buck a centuries old apolitical tradition, they also put their families on the line when they decided to vote.

t is an odd outcome for the “new way forward” party of Vice President Kamala Harris. The sterilization movement, especially, is hurting the party’s attempts at “pro-family” optics. For everyone else, this development is worth the gamble on a new administration. Image
