Prayer is something deeper than words...

O Lord, God of my salvation,
I cry out day and night before you.
 Let my prayer come before you;
incline your ear to my cry!
-Psalm 88:1-2

Prayer is something deeper than words. It is present in the soul before it has been formulated into words. And it abides in the soul after the last words of prayer have passed over our lips.
Prayer is an attitude of our hearts, an attitude of mind. Prayer is a definite attitude of our hearts toward God, an attitude which He in heaven immediately recognizes as prayer, as an appeal to His heart. Whether it takes the form of words or not, does not mean anything to God, only to ourselves.  -O. Hallesby

VCU Health Bends the Knee After Anti-ICE Nurse's Vile Videos Spark Backlash - But Big Questions Remain Among them was Malinda Cook, CRNA at VCU Medical Center, Richmond. Ms. Cook has now been fired by VCU Health after TikTok videos of her urging others in her field to do things that could medically harm or otherwise incapacitate immigration enforcement officers went viral and sparked backlash...

Florida suspends license of nurse who wished childbirth injury on Karoline Leavitt  The former labor and delivery nurse, identified as Alexis Lawler, posted a video on social media last week where she wished Leavitt would experience a "fourth degree tear" during childbirth. She was fired over the post.

In an era where trust in institutions is already frayed, a disturbing trend has emerged within the medical profession: healthcare workers openly expressing willingness, even eagerness, to deny care or inflict harm on patients based on political disagreements. A recent viral scandal involving a Virginia nurse underscores just how far this rot has spread...
...This is not an isolated aberration. It is symptomatic of a broader, deeply troubling pattern on the political Left within healthcare. During the COVID-19 pandemic, countless doctors, nurses, and other providers took to social media to declare they would prioritize or deprioritize care based on vaccination status, a proxy for political affiliation. Some gleefully wished death on the unvaccinated, calling them “selfish” or worse. Others explicitly stated they would deny treatment to Trump supporters, with posts like “Let the MAGA folks die” gaining traction in certain online echo chambers.

Once sanctuary states, cities, and counties had established the precedent that, with impunity, they could nullify federal immigration law, then what followed was a logical and mounting descent into the current open defiance of the federal government. How odd that self-described progressives are now acting out the visions of prior kindred nullificationists and neo-Confederates from John C. Calhoun to George Wallace.

Stupidity or Evil: Which is More Dangerous? Bonhoeffer warned us.   Bonhoeffer understood that totalitarian movements do not begin by demanding crimes. They begin by demanding submission. “Stop thinking,” they whisper. “Stop questioning. Stop weighing evidence. Trust the cause.” The price of belonging is intellectual surrender. In exchange, one receives certainty, camaraderie, and the intoxicating feeling of righteousness.
The individual disappears. The herd advances.

Meanwhile, random Democrat librarians are recruiting social media followers to assassinate President Trump, and random Democrat nurses are working to poison federal agents. Virginia’s Democrat attorney general has fantasized about shooting Republicans in the head and watching Republicans’ children die in their mothers’ arms. Calling for the death of the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Democrats chant, “Kristi Noem will hang!” Actress Molly Ringwald insists that Trump supporters will be found guilty of treason for having “collaborated” with “fascists.”
Too many violent Democrats want us dead. Too few authorities will do anything to stop the threat. Be safe. Be vigilant. Be ready.

Mamdani Explains He Can’t Give Out Free Stuff Without Tax Hikes   The ‘free stuff’ isn’t coming. The class warfare is. And the larger aim is radicalization and revolution. Everything is going to be a fight with the same tiresome 99% and 1% rhetoric. Nothing will ever be achieved except the dismantling of New York City.
There will be protest rallies, riots and lots of angry rhetoric and Mamdani will explain that he broke all his promises because of all the capitalists who don’t want an equal society. Overthrow the capitalists and you’ll get your free buses and bread lines. Image

Education Department Warns California to Halt Secret Gender Transitions of Kids  U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon insisted, “Under Gavin Newsom’s failed leadership, school personnel have even bragged about facilitating ‘gender transitions,’ and shared strategies to target minors and conceal information about children from their own families.” She slammed the Biden administration for ignoring the abuse before adding: “Children do not belong to the State—they belong to families. We will use every available mechanism to hold California accountable for these practices and restore parental rights.”

Ghost Phones: California Rakes in Millions for 94K Dead People  On Governor Newsom’s watch, California allowed over 94,000 dead people to be used to obtain federal dollars for phone and Internet service.  The FCC recently revoked California’s authority to run its own verification process.

Having collapsed during the pandemic, when the church (with indecent haste) slammed its doors shut, regular attendance at services has ticked back up in recent years. The so-called “quiet revival” of Christian faith has, however, largely bypassed the Anglican church in favour of Catholicism and Pentecostalism. The average attendance at Church of England services on any given Sunday in 2024 was about 580,000, less than 1 per cent of the population. The average age of a churchgoer is 61. Image
