But everything Democrats have said about illegal aliens has been a lie. They aren’t an economic plus, they’re a disaster. To the extent they pay taxes (and don’t work under the table), it amounts to a drop in the bucket compared to cost of social programs they Hoover up like Hunter Biden in a room full of cocaine-covered hookers. Their kids cost a fortune to educate because they know no English and can’t even read in their own language. American children suffer, but no Democrat gives a damn.
Now New York is pleading for mercy. After a year of illegals flooding the city, still amounting to a fraction of their population and about half of what Texas experiences monthly, they’re going broke. That boost the economy hasn’t materialized, just a bunch of working age men not working, but drinking themselves into a stupor in the city’s expensive hotels while wasting food the city buys for them. The only growth industries surrounding these illegals are prostitution and drugs.

Massive errors in FBI’s Active Shooting Reports from 2014-2022 regarding cases where civilians stop attacks: Instead of 4.6%, the correct number is at least 35.7%. In 2022, it is at least 41.3%. Excluding gun-free zones, it averaged over 63.5%. Although collecting such data is fraught with challenges, some see a pattern of distortion in the FBI numbers because the errors almost exclusively go one way, minimizing the life-saving actions of armed citizens. “Whether deliberately through bias or just incompetence, the FBI database of active shooters cannot be trusted,” said Gary Mauser, an emeritus professor at Simon Fraser University in Canada who has extensively studied gun control and defensive gun uses. Mauser’s concern dovetails with those voiced by Rep. Jim Jordan in a July 27 letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray. Jordan alleged that whistleblowers have come forward claiming political biases in the FBI’s domestic terrorism data.

Amtrak’s New Trains Can’t Hit Full Speed On Its Ancient Track America’s railways are rapidly falling behind the rest of the world. Trains are slower, tracks are older and stations are becoming fewer and farther between. Now, rail operator Amtrak is working to change things with a fleet of new high-speed trains, but there’s a problem: the tracks are too old for them to run at full speed.
Amtrak has ordered a fleet of 28 high speed trains that it plans to put into service as early as 2024. When they roll out onto America’s railways, the new trains will cover the Boston to Washington route, where they promise much faster speeds and an improved service. In Europe and the rest of the developed world, high speed rail regularly hits speeds of up to 200mph.

Hospital Insults Christians Everywhere, Ditches Christmas Eve as Paid Holiday for Juneteenth At its core, wokeness means sacrificing traditional Christian values to the new god of diversity, equity and inclusion.
The latest example occurred in Georgia, where officials from Emory Healthcare announced that beginning in 2024, Juneteenth will replace Christmas Eve as a paid holiday, The Washington Free Beacon reported Thursday.
Emory Healthcare CEO Joon Sup Lee, in an Aug. 31 email to hospital system employees, touted the move as offering “more opportunities for celebration, reflection, and education.”

Shortly after this “openness to diversity,” the organization was hit by 80,000 claims of sexual abuse. The $2.46 billion settlement bankrupted the organization. De Socio tries to spin this to the positive by claiming that it created a shift in focus by the Scouts evidenced by a “diversity, equity, and inclusion merit badge” becoming required for Eagle Scout rank.

Last week we noted that the heavy-handed pandemic policy prescriptions – lockdowns – cost millions of lives that otherwise would not have been lost. We cited a National Bureau of Economic Research report that clearly indicated the increase in non-COVID deaths over the first year of the pandemic that were caused by policies and fear-mongering that stopped people from seeing doctors, rushing to emergency rooms, undergoing regular health screenings, seeking treatment for known ailments, moderating their alcohol consumption, and in general taking care of themselves.
But that’s just but one data dive that shows just how barbarous the lockdowns were. Earlier this week, Edward Ring, co-founder and senior fellow with the California Policy Center, provided further evidence, using federal data, that the lockdowns were deadly errors made by panicked, abusive and power-mad public officials.
Masks don’t work by controlling the virus. Masks work by controlling the people.
If we’re talking about stopping the spread of the virus, masks simply don’t work.
But if we’re talking about stoking fear, instilling blind obedience to state authorities, sowing discord between citizens, and publicly “outing” skeptics and dissidents – in other words, creating an authoritarian, even totalitarian system of public health – then masks work very well indeed.
