There can be no doubt that practically every single same-sex or irregular “couple” that asks for such a blessing does so for the purpose of demonstrating to themselves, to their families, and to the rest of the world that the Church, in blessing their relationship, no longer rejects their behavior as gravely sinful, and is no longer opposed to their continuing to live in that relationship.
