Student Protests and the Old Gods; LA parishioners stop teen armed with rifle from entering first Communion Mass...more

It is perfectly legitimate in our constitutional republic to lawfully assemble and freely speak against Israel and its policies, or to demand that the United States halt military assistance or that universities divest and boycott. Those might be good or bad ideas, reasonable or unreasonable policies, and students are entirely free to advocate them in a vigorous, even offensive manner. But let’s not be confused: after the protests cease and the campuses clear, very little will have changed. Our universities will remain largely nihilistic, our young people educated in ways of self-loathing where power is the fundamental unit of thought, and with the ways of Judeo-Christian civilization threatened by false gods not yet overcome.

Here are 10 of their most common untruths about October 7 and the war that followed...

Louisiana parishioners stop teen armed with rifle from entering first Communion Mass  Quick action by alert parishioners and local police are credited with averting a tragedy at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville, Louisiana, yesterday.
As 60 children were preparing for their first Communion, the parish located south of Lafayette, Louisiana, reported that an armed “suspicious person opened the back door.”
“The individual was immediately confronted by parishioners, escorted outside, and the police were called,” the parish indicated in a statement.

Court Throws DEI Amendment to NY Constitution, Opposed By Equal Protection Project, Off November Ballot   There was suppose to be a November 2024 ballot issue in New York State to amend the NY Constitution by expanding protected categories to gender identity, etc., but also to add a new subsection that incorporates Critical Race Theory and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion concepts to excuse discrimination to fight discrimination (i.e. reverse discrimination).
A court challenge was filed arguing the amendment was passed by the legislature in violation of procedures required in the NY Constitution, and therefore the initiative had to be removed from the November ballot.

Custodians’ union to sue Columbia, says didn’t protect staff from ‘bratty,’ ‘privileged’ protesters  “Columbia should have never put the custodians or the security officer in that position and that is at the heart of the matter,” Samuelsen said. “Columbia showed an epic disregard and epically failed to protect the workforce.”
Police arrested more than 100 protesters after they took over Hamilton Hall, smashing windows, breaking through doors, and barricading themselves inside, while others refused to leave the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” on a nearby lawn, the Columbia Spectator reported.
Samuelsen said a few protesters “tried to hold our workers in the building” during the occupation.

President Trump’s NJ rally, and what it portends for the coming election   While it’s possible Trump will be convicted, I believe a conviction will ensure his reelection rather than end his chances for the White House. Americans understand that this lawfare is fundamentally wrong and very dangerous. Allowing it to succeed will extinguish liberty in America forever.
